Odeon Cinema - Huddersfield

If you are looking for something fun to do, but don’t feel like going adventuring up a hill or indulging in some retail therapy, then why not venture for a night out at the cinema?  As one of the UKs largest Cinemas, there is a vast selection of films on show – from the classic Romantic Comedy to a family friendly film!  

Greenhead Park - Huddersfield

Looking for somewhere quite to enjoy a walk or maybe even a picnic?  Greenhead Park is the main park in Huddersfield and was, historically, used for public meetings, galas and other community events.  Opened in 1884 Greenhead Park was the 2nd park serving the town, and has been popular with residents ever since.

Halifax

Halifax is one of the closer town’s to Huddersfield and has numerous things to offer to cater for all tastes!  One of the main attractions of Halifax is that it has a large number of art galleries, including Dean Clough Art Galleries, which also feature the Henry Moore Studio; the Piece Hall Art Gallery; and a new Marble Gallery selling crafts at Bankfield Museum. There are also many private galleries in and around the town.

Eureka!

If you are looking for a family day out that will provide hours of entertainment for your children the Eureka, The Museum for Children, is the perfect day out!  This is designed especially for 0-11 year olds and provides hands-on fun and educational activities that are sure to have you and the children laughing!

National Media Museum

The National Media Museum in Bradford is devoted to film, photography, television, radio and the web.

Royal Armouries – Leeds

The Royal Armouries is home to the United Kingdom’s national collection of arms and armour, including artillery.  An educational and fun day out for all the family!

Standedge Tunnel

This unique spot transports you to another world. Reopened in 2001 after a 20 year restoration programme, the Standedge Tunnel & Visitor Centre sits on the banks of the historic Huddersfield Narrow Canal, a waterway of startling contrasts, from tranquil countryside to dramatic mills.

Holmfirth

This is a beautiful village located in the stunning scenery of the Holme Valley.  This area was made famous by being the primary location of Last of the Summer Wine.  This is only one of the numerous, quaint villages located in this stunning valley – located in the heart of the moorland of the Peak District.

Bronte Country – Haworth

Located across the West Yorkshire and East Lancashire Pennines – these wild moorlands and landscapes inspired the works of the famous Bronte sisters.  This area offers stunning views and a fascinating look into what inspired the works of the world famous sisters.  Within the Bronte country there is the picturesque village of Haworth – this place is full of character and also the Bronte Museaum – offering you a change to see where the sisters actually wrote the novels!

Castle Hill

If you are fascinated by history and are looking for an educational day out then this could be the perfect destination for you.  The Victoria Tower is perched on a steep hill overlooking the northern industrial town of Huddersfield in the Kirklees area of West Yorkshire.  The building was built to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Queen Victoria’s reign.  (This is featured in Bronte Country.

Black Hill Plateau

If you are a keen walker or hiker the n this is an absolutely superb walk, taking in parts of the Pennine Way and the old route of the Pennine Way off Black Hill, this route will offer you stunning views and spectacular landscapes!

Lawrence Batley Theatre

This is Huddersfield's Premier performance venue – showing a variety of shows throughout the year, there is sure to be something on to make your visit to the area one you will remember!

Victoria Theatre

Boasting an impressive main auditorium with a capacity of 1,512 fully-seated (and 1,860 part-standing), the theatre plays host to many high profile and international performers and artistes as well as serving and supporting a wide range of the local community events and activities.

York Racecourse

Located only 45 minutes from The Briar Court Hotel, this really is a wonderful day out!  This famous racecourse offers stunning grounds and buildings to enjoy an experience you won’t forget!

The Kingsgate Centre

Exceptional facilities with a vast selection of goods on offer – whether you are looking for this season’s must-have fashion or are after a gift for someone special – this shopping centre can deliver!  This also has large parking areas as well as disabled facilities and baby changing facilities.

Shopping in Leeds

People come from far and wide to sample the diverse range of shopping on offer in Leeds – from high fashion to finding bargains in markets – Leeds has it all!

Meadowhall Sheffield

If you are looking further afield and want a day out then Meadowhall has it all!  Boasting large selections of shops, over 50 places to eat  - it really does have a lot to offer!

Trafford Centre – Manchester

This really is one of the most well-known shopping centres – with everything you need for a day out under one roof!  The Trafford Centre boasts huge varieties of shops, dining areas and other facilities.  It also has a cinema!  So no matter what you are looking for in your day out The Trafford Centre will have something to offer you!

The Mill (Batley)

With over 40 stores spread over four floors, The Mill houses a fantastic choice of retail outlets hosting an extensive range of fashion & footwear.
